North Lincolnshire fundraiser to celebrate the life of much-loved wife

A North Lincolnshire man who lost his wife five years ago to cancer is hosting a fundraising event to thank the hospice for the care and support they both received.

Julian Richards, a security ambassador from Scunthorpe, will celebrate the life of Karen Richards during the date of their wedding anniversary on Sunday, December 18 at Mrs Potts Tea Room on Ravendale Street, in Scunthorpe.

Julian said: “Lindsey Lodge not only help their patients, but support is given to family and friends which is the greatest gift during such a heart-breaking time. This is why I want to give something back to show how much I appreciated their countless help and support.

“Karen was such a loving person and always put others first. Five years on everything I do still revolves around her and it was the best time of my life during the seven years we were married.

“Karen’s mother, Mavis, now attends the hospice day care centre and it brought comfort to her that all the staff remembered Karen.

“Please join us in a night of remembrance and celebration for the life of my wife and let’s raise funds for a wonderful cause.”

There are now only 10 places left for the afternoon tea which includes the choice of turkey and cranberry, chicken and stuffing, pork and apple sandwiches, homemade coleslaw, pigs in blankets, quiche, pork pies, homemade mince pies, Victoria sponge cake, Christmas fancies and more. They will also cater for vegetarians.

It takes place at 6pm on Sunday, 18th December at Mrs Potts Tea Room. It’s £10 per head- to book call Julian on 07931774580.-
