New Doncaster dance shop partners with Spanish tap shoe brand

A new Doncaster dance shop recently opened its doors and welcomed dance school owners from Doncaster, Retford and the surrounding towns.

PW Studios is owned by Nick Plummer-Walsh and is based in Everton, Doncaster.

To coincide with the launch the business partnered with Spanish tap shoe brand Ruben Sanchez Dance Wear.

Nick said: “The CEO and tap dance legend Ruben Sanchez flew over from Barcelona especially for the occasion. PW Studios is the first and only supplier of the Ruben Sanchez Tap Shoe in the UK.”

Ruben Sanchez Dance Wear (RSDW) sits in a pretty niche category of high-end artisan tap shoes — closer to boutique instrument-making than mass-market dancewear.

Every pair is hand-built in Barcelona rather than factory-produced at scale. The company emphasises individually assembled shoes with wooden soles, leather construction, and careful tap mounting.

Nick continued: “The brand was created by Rubén Sánchez, who is himself an active tap performer and teacher. That gives the company credibility in the tap community because the products are designed from a performer’s perspective rather than a generic dancewear manufacturer.”
