MP and chamber chief face hot topics at Doncaster round table
Doncaster Labour MP Sally Jameson and chamber chief Dan Fell faced hot topics at a round table event.
Sensory solutions form AmbiSpace proudly hosted the latest Doncaster Chamber round table event with Doncaster Central Labour MP Sally Jameson.
The round table brought together a group of local businesses to discuss key issues affecting organisations across the Doncaster region.
Topics included rising fuel costs, challenges around employee pay increases, tax pressures, and some wider social issues impacting Doncaster's people and business community.
Some businesses included in the roundtable were Kevin Wheatley of AmbiSpace, Ben Griffiths of 2Excel, Natalie Simpson of Handelsbanken, So Fong of King Asia Foods, Sam Ward of One Call Insurance, Rob Dennis from Doncaster Council, Neil Jones of Treo Recruitment and Julie Kaye of DN Colleges.
A spokesperson for AmbiSpace said: “Events like this are essential, as they give businesses a platform to raise concerns, share insights, and ensure that the issues affecting our region are clearly heard and represented in parliament.
“The hot topic towards the end of the roundtable was about the Doncaster Sheffield Airport reopening and an important vote that is coming up on May 11 which could jeopardise the current momentum.
Sally Jameson said: “It is go hard or go home with the airport opening, and people in Doncaster know that and want that.”
She also said she would be doing everything she can in Parliament to bring about the airport to reopening.
Dan Fell added that it would be “catastrophic” for the opening of the airport to run into issues with the vote, adding; “ We need businesses to voice more about the airport, which will help people to understand how important the airport reopening is to the city of Doncaster.”
Guests also had the opportunity to explore the AmbiSpace showroom, learning more about the sensory rooms, sensory nooks, and inclusive design work the firm deliver across the UK and internationally.
The spokesperson added: “It is very important for us to continue supporting and empowering the neurodivergent community, and we really appreciate being able to show more people the amazing work we do, in Doncaster and beyond.
“A huge thank you to Doncaster Chamber for organising these important roundtable events, and for continually championing the voices of local Doncaster businesses. “
