Police said illegal vehicles will be seized and crushed

Police in Doncaster have seized a modified mountain bike capable of doing 70mph in a clampdown on anti-social behaviour.

Officers from Doncaster Central Neighbourhood Policing Team revealed details of the blitz in the Herten Triangle area of Lakeside over the weekend.

A spokesperson said: “If you drive your car in an anti social manner we will get it recovered and you will have to pay recovery and storage costs.

“Second thing, mountain bikes are not supposed to be capable of 70mph.

“If you modify it then its a motorcycle and you need to make it road legal.

“If not we will have it recovered and crushed - and you will be prosecuted for any licence and insurance offences identified.

“Please stop driving or riding in a dangerous anti social manner or we will take appropriate action to take your vehicle off you.”
