Map check for superfast broadband

Isle residents and workers can find out when they might expect to benefit from superfast broadband services on a new postcode map checker.

Roadshows took place this week in Epworth and Owston Ferry for people to find out more about superfast broadband, and interest in the information events has been reported as high.

The roll-out of the project that will bring broadband speeds of up to 80 megabytes to the Isle and North Lincolnshire by summer next year is ahead of schedule.

To check which phase of the project will come to each area with the new service, people can visit the online postcode map checker at www.northlincs.gov.uk/broadbandproject.

Coun Neil Poole of North Lincolnshire Council said: “We have been contacted by a number of people wantng to find out when they will receive superfast broadband which is why we created the online postcode checker.

“High speed broadband is exciting news for everyone who lives and works in Northern Lincolnshire. It will open the doors to countless business opportunities - boosting the economy and supporting thriving communities.

“If you have any questions about the project or would like to find out the benefits then pop along to one of the events.”
