Balby Road was shut in both directions last night as police and ambulance crews dealt with the incident close to the junction with Mansfield Road.
South Yorkshire Police have yet to confirm details of the incident which saw the air ambulance land in Westfield Park.
Photos from the scene show paramedics and police dealing with a casualty close to the Jet petrol station.
An update is expected this morning.
