Isle teen raises money for charity at garden party

Isle teen Harriet Wicks organised a garden party in aid of eating disorder charity Beat and Scunthorpe Hospital's Disney ward.

The day included singing by Edwina Hayes, stalls and games, and raised £2,500. Harriet, 15, who attends Axholme Academy in Crowle is pictured with her mum and dad Samantha and Robert.

She said: “I decided to organise the event to make people more aware of the charity Beat and raise awareness of eating disorders. And also following a stay in Scunthorpe Disney ward I noticed a lack of things to entertain teenagers so I want to put half of the money towards something to purchase for them.”
