Isle students welcome at UTC event
This event from 3pm to 4.30pm is for young people interested in attending the UTC, to give insight into why they should choose this facility over others.
Humber UTC is designed to be a school with a difference. Students will work on real projects designed and delivered by top companies in the Humber region. It will provide students with the skills, aspirations and expectations to meet employers’ future needs.

David Shephard, Group Business Executive at Able UK, said: “Parents and students have seemed enthusiastic about the way employers will interact with the college and help to form a practical curriculum at past events. The idea of being able to contextualise what will be taught in the classroom with real life scenarios in the world of work seemed to appeal to the students.
“Parents reinforced to us the need for students to learn how what they study in the classroom will be transferred to an everyday working environment. It was clear to us as employers that there is a growing demand for pathways into meaningful apprenticeships.”
