'Hugely grateful' Brodsworth Hall bosses welcome £10m funding share
The Grade I listed mansion will receive repairs to its roof
Doncaster’s historic Brodsworth Hall is to receive a funding boost to carry out vital repairs after receiving a share of £10 million from the Government.
The Grade I listed mansion, which is owned and operated by English Heritage, is one of a number of UK landmarks to receive funding from the Heritage at Risk Capital Fund.

It comes after several recent incidents which have seen damage to the building caused by heavy rain and flooding.
A spokesperson described the cash boost as “great news” and added: “This support will help us tackle pressing conservation challenges at Brodsworth Hall and Gardens, helping to preserve the site’s history for future generations.
“As a charity, we’re hugely grateful for this support and the difference it will make.”

The money is part of a broader £41 million investment delivered by Historic England to restore 74 buildings across the country.
Brodsworth will share the £10 million cashpot with Dover Castle and Queen Victoria’s residence on the Isle of Wight, Osborne House.
The current Brodsworth, which dates from the 1860s, was given to English Heritage in 1990 and has been lovingly preserved, attracting thousands of visitors a year.
