How police caught shamed Doncaster child sex teaching assistant Pamela Martin

Former Doncaster teaching assistant Pamela Martin and partner Christopher O’Kane have been jailed for child sex offences

Perverted Doncaster teaching assistant Pamela Martin preyed on her pupils - and then sent the depraved child sex images and vile sexually explicit messages to her lover, police have revealed after the pair were jailed.

The North Lincolnshire couple shared indecent images of children and are now behind bars after both were sentenced to seven years each - and must serve a minimum of four in prison.

Martin, 44, of Lakeside Drive, Scunthorpe pleaded guilty, at an earlier hearing, to three counts of making an indecent image of a child, two counts of distributing an indecent image of a child, possession of an extreme pornographic image and publishing an obscene article.

Christopher O’Kane, 41, also of Lakeside Drive, Scunthorpe pleaded guilty to three counts of making an indecent image of a child, two counts of distributing an indecent image of a child, possession of an extreme pornographic image and publishing an obscene article.

Both appeared at Grimsby Crown Court yesterday (Friday) and were sentenced to seven years each in prison and given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order. They both must also remain on the sex offenders register for life.

O’Kane initially came to the attention of officers after police received information that he was communicating online in a way that suggested a sexual interest in children.

He was arrested and had his devices seized pending forensic examination on Wednesday, 10 December 2025.

Detectives found messages on O’Kane’s phone, between him and Martin, relating to the sexual abuse of children, leading to Martin’s arrest on Thursday 8 January 2026.

Whilst Martin was in custody, her devices were examined and officers found indecent images of children as well as indecent sexual communications with O’Kane.

Further investigations identified that Martin had taken indecent images of students whilst working as a teaching assistant in South Yorkshire and shared these with O’Kane.

O’Kane was further arrested on 15, January 2026 in connection with the messages found on Martin’s phone.

Officers from Humberside Police’s Online Investigation Team presented the evidence to the CPS who authorised a total of 13 charges for the pair.

Leading the investigation, Detective Constable Helena Allison from the force’s Police Online Investigation Team said: “Martin and O’Kane are perverted criminals, and I am reassured that they are now behind bars.

“I hope the sentence given sends a clear message that we will not tolerate anyone preying on children for their own sick sexual gratification.

“If you commit child sex offences, we will do everything in our power to bring you to justice for your crimes.

“Martin took advantage of her role in a school to create indecent images of children, at a time when her victims and their families trusted her, as a professional, to look after them.

“She then further abused this trust by sharing these images with O’Kane, engaging in vile conversation together.

“I am pleased that O’Kane and Martin entered early guilty pleas, removing the necessity for a long-protracted trial and I believe that the diligence of POLIT team to gather clear evidence of the crimes committed by both offenders may have played a role in this decision.

“I would urge anyone with any information or concerns about this type of offending to contact us. We will listen to you and we will do everything we can to investigate and hold those responsible to account.

At a plea hearing at Grimsby Crown Court on Monday, 9 March 2026, Martin pleaded guilty to seven out of eight charges, pleading not guilty to one count of voyeurism.

The charge of voyeurism was left to remain on file due to the length of sentence expected for the offences Martin pleaded guilty to. O’Kane pleaded guilty to all charges.
