The report said that Rotherham Council had predicted a rise in tourists following the death of town comedian Barry Chuckle – with five million people set to descend on the town.
The story then goes on to report on the work to redevelop the station to cope with the demand being botched with platforms numbered incorrectly and with two of them not even in the station – with platform 11 ‘two miles away in a sheltered housing complex in Brinsworth.’

Another. ‘disgruntled commuter Angelica Pinpad’ is quoted: “I missed my train because I couldn’t find my platform. I followed signs for the information kiosk and found it three miles away behind the Holiday Inn in Canklow.”
And to add to the confusion, all clocks at the station ‘are set to Moscow time.’
