The live Tweet the Director session will take place on Wednesday, June 1, between 2pm and 4pm as part of the bus operator’s annual Green Week, which runs from May 30 to June 3.

It has been designed to give bus passengers in South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire the chance ask questions about how Stagecoach is helping to tackle climate change and suggest ways the company can further minimise its impact on the environment.

Sue Hayes, operations director of Stagecoach Yorkshire and one of the directors taking part, said: “Every year, we run Green Week to provide a focus for ensuring we all work together to protect our planet for future generations.

“We all have responsibility to look after our environment. Although we have made great progress in recent years, there is still plenty more we can do and we are keen to hear from customers with ideas or suggestions that will help make our operations as green as possible.”

Stagecoach has a five-year strategy to tackle climate change. In South Yorkshire and Chesterfield, the company has an energy team made up of staff who help steer objectives towards further reducing the company’s carbon footprint.

Stagecoach was the first public transport company to join the Care4Air Eco Stars Fleet Recognition programme in South Yorkshire, making a contribution towards improving air quality.
