Doncaster kids are being urged to get active by health care experts by attending free sporting ActivKids sessions during their February half term school holidays.
The free sporting sessions, provided by school nurses who work for Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH), will be held at specially prepared centres in Denaby Main, Intake and Stainforth.
The three get fit and healthy sessions will be held for school children at Denaby Main Primary School Sports Hall, School House, School Walk, Denaby Main on Tuesday, February 21 between 10am and 11.30am for youngsters who are aged between seven and 11.
Another get fit session will be held at Intake Healthy Living Centre, Sandringham Road, Intake on Wednesday, February 22 from 10am to 11.30am for children aged between four and seven and from 1.30pm to 3pm for children who are aged between seven and 11.
A third get fit and healthy session will be held at Long Toft Primary School Sports Hall, Church Road, Stainforth.
This will be held on Thursday, February 23 between 10am and 11.30am for children aged between four and seven-years-old and from 1.30pm until 3.15pm for children aged between seven and 11-years-old.
Places at these sessions are limited and are only available on a first come and a first served basis and parental consent and emergency contact details must be provided to health care staff on the day. In addition to this booking in advance for the sessions is essential.
RDaSH organiser, Lindsay Smithson, said: “Why not book your child into the sessions to attend one of our free healthy days. It will keep them busy and active this February during the school half term holiday.”
