Four arrests made in connection with reports moped riders fired shots at car in Sheffield
Four men have been arrested in connection with allegations that two moped riders fired shots at a car in Sheffield.
The men, aged 34, 31, 26 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences. They have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Armed officers were in the Edenhall Road area on Friday to carryout enquiries as part of the ongoing investigation.
The arrests were made following reports that two moped riders fired shots at a silver car in the City Road area, close to the junction with Eastern Avenue, at 9pm on Wednesday, June 22. Nobody was injured during the incident.
Detective Sergeant John Yoxall said last week that officers were working hard to "provide reassurance to members of the community."
He added: "Resources were immediately sent to the area to establish the full circumstances of the incident and this remains a priority for our team.
“While I understand incidents like this are worrying, we believe the people involved are known to each other and that this was a targeted attack."
A police spokesperson said: "If you have any information about what happened, please call police on 101 quoting incident number 1190 of 22 June 2016. Information can also be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111."
