Epworth will be filled with music

Formed in February 2015 and made up from the three founder members of Indie Manned and the former guitarist with The Kites and The Mirrors, The Setting Sons bang out the songs of Paul Weller, his influences and those influenced by him.

Lead vocalist Calvin Dodd, guitarist Phil Bingham, bass guitarist Paul ‘Caigy’ McCaig and drummer Mark Jenkinson are pleased to be joined by much sought-after keyboard player, Simon Clarke, when he is not playing with his band The Wolfmen.

Elsewhere there will be 47 different acts performing. The day starts at 10am and runs until 5pm and there will be simultaneous performances at eight different venues in the town - the White Bear car park, Wesley Methodist Memorial Church gardens, Mayfair Court, Queens Head car park, in Market Place, Fountains Court, Vinegarth, and the Old Rectory gardens. There will also be an impromptu stage area next to Benny’s Pizza outlet for anyone to sign up and perform. There will be choirs, barbershop quartet, brass ensemble, jazz group, bell ringers, folk bands, rock bands, Morris dancers, mediaeval musicians and dancers, folk singers and musicians, guitarists, harpists and In the evening there will be a free concert in St Andrews Church at 7pm when seven of the groups who have played during the day will appear again. If it is wet the show will still go on, but all of the performances will move indoors.
