Epworth tearoom's cream tea and refill offer

The Tea Room Number 1 in Epworth High Street is offering two cream teas for just £10. The offer does not only save you money but it comes with a free refill too.

The scrumptious cream tea is available from noon every day and includes two scones with fresh cream and jam, and a pot of tea or coffee.

The pleasant corner cafe in High Street is run by Joyce Brightmore, who has transformed it into the place to be and she aims to make it a more interesting experience as she now has a display of vintage and new design teapots, some of which are for sale.

She said: “This special offer is as a big thank you to customers. And I hope people will come and visit us here not only to relax and grab something to eat and drink, but also look at our collection of teapots in unusual shapes, some made by specialist teapot designer Tony Woods.”

The cafe has always been a fixture in the town and after Joyce took over in October 2013 she set about transforming the menu with a range of homemade fare.

A recent redecoration and upgrade enhances the customer experience, with the addition of free wi-fi for customers.

The former quality assurance manager for a number of food companies added: “I have worked in the food industry for many years - in fact ever since the age of 15.

“I have been in this area for a long time and decided that opening a cafe in the town was something I really wanted to do to.

“People have responded to my introduction of homemade cakes, biscuits and other tasty treats.”

Opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 9.30am to 3pm - closed on Mondays. She aims to cater for all ages and tastes and passing trade including walkers and cyclists.

The menu choice includes home-made soup and cakes and gluten-free and vegetarian food choices.

She said: “I am always trying to introduce something new and even welcome recipe ideas from customers.
