The hole appeared on Scouting Way, Cantley, behind Everingham Road, and was spotting by residents yesterday.

It was described as a danger to small children and cars by a concerned resident after it appeared.

A repair was made yesterday afternoon, after ward Coun Majid Khan called Doncaster Council’s highways officers.

He said: “I’ve had a couple of residents contact me about a sinkhole which is developing behind Bella Pizza on Scouting Way just near to where the scout hut is.

"Highways have come out earlier on and they’ve done a temporary repair, but I’m pushing them on a more permanent solution because it did look quite concerning to start with. The repair has been carried out.”

“If you are going to be in the vicinity just try dodging that particular area if you can. Although a repair has been carried out I think it does need further attention.”
