The Doncaster area pilot at the helm of a plane in which footballer Emiliano Sala died when it crashed was not licensed to fly the plane, a crash investigation report has revealed.

David Ibbotson of Crowle was flying the Argentine striker from Nantes in France to his new club Cardiff City when the Piper Malibu crashed into the English Channel on 21 January 2019.

Sala’s body was recovered from the wreckage, but Mr Ibbotson's body has never been found.
