Doncaster Toll Bar 36 Siddal Academy 16

Doncaster Toll Bar maintained their Yorkshire Men's Rugby League Premier Division title challenge with a 36-16 win over Siddal.

“It was a tough match against a good young Siddal team but we had enough to win the game pretty comfortably in the end,” said coach Ian Tattersall.

Second-placed Toll Bar led 14-6 at the break courtesy of tries by Jono Burns, Gaz Carey and Jordan King and an Alex Palmer conversion.

Toll Bar added four more tries in a dominant second half display with Carey bagging two more to complete his hat trick.

Former Dons star Craig Lawton and man-of-the-match Karl Mills also touched down.

“It was a very pleasing win, and with no regular half back available we had to find a way to get the win,” said Tattersall.

“I thought we were pretty ruthless in attack and our right side was unreal at times.

“Defensively we improved and things are going in the right direction.

“The team as a whole is strong and the squad is showing its strength in depth.”
