Doncaster: thousands currently without electricity due to power cuts

Northern Powergrid say no fewer than 2925 homes have been affected by the power outage – and some could be without electricity until midnight.

The areas affected include the DN1, DN3, DN4, DN6, DN9, DN10, DN11,DN15 and DN17 post code areas.

The company says homes in DN1, DN3, some parts of DN4 and DN6, DN9, DN10, DN11, DN15 and DN17 should have power restored by 8.45pm, although this estimate could change.

But other homes in DN4 and DN6 are expected to be without power until midnight – a full 12 hours after the issue was reported in DN6.

According to Northern Powergrid, all three power cuts have been caused by ‘unexpected problems’ with the electricity cables or equipment that serve each area. They say teams are working hard to restore power as quickly as possible.
