Doncaster school celebrate the opening of new nursery

The new nursery is for children nine months and older.

St Alban’s Catholic Primary and Nursery School, a member of St Clare Catholic Multi- Academy Trust, have opened a new nine month nursery provision on the school site.

Stepping Stones, based at St Alban’s, was Ofsted registered in September and complements the existing school nursery for children from two to four years old.

Stepping Stones is the first school nursery from nine months with wraparound care in the region.

Parents of children who have started their learning journey at Stepping Stones have been delighted with what the nursery has to offer.

One parent said: "The staff have been amazing with communication about how my child has settled in and the progress she is making.

“The room is done so beautifully and I love the individual touches for each child.

“My child is thriving and gets excited when he sees the building, knowing where he is going. That’s the best feeling…’

There are plans to extend this provision with a new build nursery in 2028, creating more, much needed, places in both nurseries at the school.

Places offered at St Alban’s and Stepping Stones, include the free 30 hours and 15 hours funded places for children from families who are Catholic and non-Catholic, looking for a nurturing school based nursery with optional wraparound clubs from 9 months to 11 years.

Places are available at both Stepping Stones and St Alban’s Nurseries for January 2027.
