Rovers’ 3-0 defeat at Vale Park rates as arguably their worst performance of this season.

Stuckmann saved a penalty in the game and only an impressive display from the German prevented an even bigger margin of defeat.

And redemption is in the goalkeeper’s mind ahead of tonight’s return fixture.

“We have to prove a point, especially for the fans who travelled there,” said Stuckmann.

“We need to win this game.

“We know what they’re good at, we know what we are good at and we know what we have to do. Only three points will do, nothing else.”

Rovers boss Darren Ferguson was clearly disappointed with his side’s performance against Fleetwood at the weekend and Stuckmann believes that his manager’s comments were completely justified.

“He’s got very high standards and so have we and I think he is completely right in what he said,” he said.

“We know we didn’t perform at our best and we have to get better.”

He added: “The manager has brought in a 3-5-2 and it was a bit of a change for us at the start, but I think it’s worked really, really well over the last few weeks and months.

“We’ve got the system into our heads and we know what we do. Everyone knows exactly what everyone is doing and it’s working really well at the moment.”
