Rovers have only lost once in their last 12 and have an 11-point cushion to fourth with 14 games left.

But after four games without a win the Scot is keen for his table-topping side to kick on again in terms of results.

“Everyone’s going to have a run where you don’t win games in a consecutive manner,” said Ferguson earlier this week.

“The overall picture still looks very good. The points total is good.

“But in the last four games we haven’t picked enough points up and I feel on Saturday we need to get back to winning ways.

“You can look at the last four games and think, yes, we’ve had Luton at home, Carlisle away and Newport away.

“Probably the one where we dropped points is Morecambe at home.

“No disrespect to them but you’d expect to pick up three points there.

“But we’re still where we need to be.

“The fortunate thing is the gaps have not got shorter - we’re 11 ahead of fourth, we’re still three ahead of Plymouth.

“I can accept that we’ve had a tough calendar and I expect most teams to go through a spell where they don’t pick up maximum points but we need to get back to winning ways on Saturday and we need to go back on a run to finish where we want to finish.

“The players are fully aware of that. I’ve said to them ‘we need to go again now’. We need to get back to the form we were in and scoring more goals.”
