Rovers have lost six of their last eight league games.

They hope to secure a first league win on home soil this season against Southend United on Saturday.

“There were four examples I showed them in a video meeting this week of easy final passes against Bradford that would lead to a great chance in the game - and we mess it up,” said Ferguson.

“That’s the sort of thing that is costing us points.”

A young Rovers side secured a morale-boosting 1-0 win over Sunderland U21s on Tuesday night to reach the knockout round of the Checkatrade Trophy.

“We held onto a lead, quite comfortably,” said Ferguson.

“And that is no bearing on the opposition. It’s about concentration.

“We spoke about it again on Tuesday and I’m going to keep doing it and drumming it into them.

“The top players have great ability but the concentration, when it really matters, is what makes them the players they are.

“I’m not saying we’re going to be at that level but our concentration has got to be better.

“It’s costing us points.”
