Doncaster RLFC v Hemel Stags: Tali back to boost Dons
The fourth-placed Dons will welcome back top try-scorer Jason Tali in tomorrow's League One clash against lowly Hemel Stags (3pm).
The Papua New Guinea centre was given clearance to return following a visit to the town’s fracture clinic on Thursday.
Sam Doherty, who scored a hat trick in last weekend’s win at London Skolars when standing in for him, retains his place due to Liam Welham being switched to second-row to cover for the injured Brad Foster.
Prop Matt Nicholson, who will have a scan on his injured knee on Monday, is ruled out but veteran Makali Aizue returns.
Head coach Gary Thornton is considering resting winger Louis Sheriff, the only ever-present this season, and giving a rare run-out to Aaron Jones-Bishop.
“Aaron has had to be patient in recent months but he’s continued to train well,” said Thornton.
Former Toll Bar hooker Kieran Cross could also get the nod over Ryan Wright for a place on the bench.
Stags arrive at the Keepmoat Stadium, for the second of two games to be played on pitch 2, boasting just one league win.
“Obviously it’s a game we’re expected to win but to do that we’ve got to go out there with the right attitude,” said Thornton.
“I’m expecting a similar game to South Wales in that they will give it a real go in the first 20 to 25 minutes.
“They’ve recently brought in a couple of players on loan from Dewsbury, including half-back Brad Delaney who played a few games for us earlier in the season, so that will have strengthened them.”
