Dave Townsend, president of Doncaster Phoenix Rugby Union Club, said: “We are very proud that Taylor Wimpey has chosen to continue to support us for such a long time.

“The costs of running the club often stack up, so this donation has been very gratefully received.”

The Castle Park-based club plays against teams from across the Midlands having been transferred to the Midlands Premier Division this season, following recent back-to-back promotions from the Yorkshire One and North East One divisions.

Anne Bagshaw, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, adds: “We have a long history in the Doncaster area, with our nearby Westlands and Holly Hill developments, so we are delighted to support the club for another year.

“We’ve been keeping a close eye on results and the teams have been doing exceptionally well over the last few years and I know they will continue to do us, and the area, proud in the season ahead.”

Holly Hill offers a selection of three- and four-bedroom homes on the site of the former Rossington Colliery, while Westlands has a range of three- to five-bedroom homes in the village of Auckley.
