Doncaster MP Sally Jameson "robbed" of phone in London

The MP reportedly gave chase shouting “industrial language” - and got the phone back

Doncaster MP Sally Jameson was reportedly robbed of her mobile phone in London - but gave chase to the thief - and after a volley of “industrial language,” got it back, according to reports.

The Doncaster Central Labour MP is understood to have been targeted in London in recent weeks.

A report in the Irish Times, talking about northern MPs and their links to new Prime Minister Andy Burnham described her as a “formidable character” and added: “One story doing the rounds among Burnham’s allies concerns Jameson, a fresh-faced, softly-spoken woman who, somewhat incongruously based on her appearance, previously worked as a prison guard.”

Ms Jameson worked at HMP Moorland before becoming an MP.

The newspaper reported: “The story goes that last week, Jameson was walking across Lambeth Bridge in London when a thief snatched her mobile phone.

“Infuriated, she chased after the culprit while screaming all manner of industrial language at him.

“They say he gave back her phone.”

We have contacted Ms Jameson’s office regarding the incident.
