Doncaster motorway closed over concerns for person's safety

A Doncaster motorway was shut in both directions over concerns for a person’s safety.
Emergency services were called to the A1 between junctions 35 and 37 late last night.
National Highways Yorkshire described the incident as “police led” with delays of 20 minutes and one mile of congestion on the approach.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The A1 was closed for a short period while we responded to reports of a concern for safety.
“The person involved was brought to safety and the road shortly reopened.”
The spokesperson said no further details would be released.
