A Doncaster man is due to appear in court charged with assaulting police.

Phillip Anthony Hartley, 37, will appear at York Magistrates’ Court facing three charges of assaulting police, criminal damage and breaking bail conditions.

Hartley, of Christ Church Road was arrested at York station, North Yorkshire Police confirmed.

He is also due to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court, London on August 18 charged with offences under the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) Regulations 2020 at a demo in Hyde Park on May 16.
