Headteacher, staff and students are working towards becoming a "green flag school"
The Levett School in Doncaster is currently working towards becoming a "green flag school" and has been working at reducing its carbon footprint and becoming more sustainable as a school.
The headteacher Hannah Buchanan marked Earth Day 2026 with an inspiring commitment to sustainability, completing a 13-mile walk to school on April 22, alongside the school’s site manager. Neil Dyson.

The walk forms part of a wider effort to promote environmentally conscious choices within the school community.
By taking on the challenge together, they demonstrated a shared commitment to reducing carbon emissions and leading by example.
Pupils played an active role in the event, setting challenges for the headteacher to complete along the way and making predictions about what time she would arrive at school.
A spokesman said: “Their enthusiasm built excitement throughout the day, culminating in a warm and lively crowd gathered to greet both walkers at the finish.
“The occasion also coincided with a significant milestone for the school, celebrating one year since achieving its Ofsted “Good” rating.
“Staff and pupils warmly received the effort, which served as both a celebration and a reminder of the positive impact that collective action can have."
