Doncaster domestic violence charity calls for donations during lockdown as cases rise

A Doncaster domestic violence charity has called for donations with the number of cases in the town rising as a result of the coronavirus lockdown.

Phoenix WoMen’s Aid, which offers support to men, women and children, has asked for people to donate cash.

A spokesman said: “Our community is in need of our support with emergency accommodation and supplies, more than ever during these unprecedented times.

“Our volunteers are still working through the crisis and we're driving forward with the opening of a new male and family refuge in Doncaster, the first of it's kind in our area.
