Doncaster club to host pig racing charity fun night

The fun event aims to raise funds for the St John’s Ambulance

Visitors to a Doncaster club will be squealing with excitement - at a fun night of pig racing for charity.

Yorkshire Main Sports and Social Club in Edlington is staging the event on July 3 to raise funds for the St John’s Ambulance.

But don’t worry - the fun event will not see real pigs racing.

Doors will open at 7pm when action will get under way.

Organised in partnership with local supporters, all proceeds from the evening will directly benefit the lifesaving community work of the St John Ambulance.

Entry tickets are priced at at £3 per person and attendees will have the opportunity to cheer on their favorite swine as a series of races take place throughout the evening.

To raise the stakes, prizes will be awarded to the winning pig in each race.

And In a bid to maximize fundraising efforts, the event organisers are calling on the Edlington business community to get involved.

For just £10, local businesses can sponsor an individual pig.

And sponsors are being encouraged to get creative, as a core rule of the night dictates that they must name their sponsored pig.

Anyone intested can buy tickets from the club.
