Disabled teen who cannot walk unassisted is set to take on Ben Nevis challenge
Jack Marshall, aged 18 and of Belton is currently in training to climb Ben Nevis later this year and for him “failure is not an option”.
Jack has Moebius Syndrome, which means he is unable to walk unassisted, has difficulty with hearing and sight, and is unable to smile.

Hide AdDespite this, he has undertaken dozens of challenges during his childhood, including completing the Great North and Great Manchester Junior runs on several occasions as well as climbing Yorkshire’s Three Peaks and Snowdon.
His next stop - the formidale Ben Nevis.
He said: “I am climbing Ben Nevis along with my best friend in the whole world Chris Chittell.
“He has been by my side during my challenges for ten years and I trust in his judgement.
“If he says I can do it then I will do it.
“Also by my side will be my sister Jaimie who is again always by my side.

Hide Ad“Along with a band of merry men and my very good friend Mark Cannon I am undertaking this challenge to climb up and down Ben Nevis in one day.
“I do not know how many hours it will take me but I will without doubt complete my task.
“I won’t enjoy it. It will hurt. It will be hard work.
“But compared to some I am fit and well and I believe the money I have raised so far has helped fund advancements in treatment of this desperate disease.”
Chris Chittell is best known for his role in ITV soap opera Emmerdale in which he plays the character Eric Pollard.
