A man’s body has been found in a Doncaster canal but police are not yet sure who he is or the circumstances surrounding his death.

South Yorkshire Police said: At 3.26pm yesterday (June 24) emergency services were called to reports that a man’s body had been found in a Doncaster canal near Milethorne Lane, Wheatley.

“Enquiries are now underway to identify the man and establish the circumstances surrounding his death.”

The dead body was found in a canal near Milethorn Lane in Wheatley.
