A South Yorkshire woman was jailed – for stabbing a neighbour who threw baby sweetcorn at her house.

The bizarre story came to light in last night’s episode of South Yorkshire Police documentary series 999: What’s Your Emergency which was focusing on the issue of revenge attacks.

SYP call handler Josh Wright told the Channel 4 programme: “They can stem from something so little and escalate further and further.

"They have sprayed their supersoaker at my cat, they have put s*** through my letterbox, they have poured petrol through my letterbox.

"A lady rang up 999 and said that her neighbour was throwing vegetables at her house, baby sweetcorn specifically.

"So in retaliation, she went down and stabbed her in the neck.

"That was an escalation. She's in prison now.”

The show, which follows South Yorkshire Police officers on the frontline of duty, continues next Tuesday at 9pm on Channel 4.
