Wanted man caught by police after driving around in car with "dodgy" number plates

A man wanted by the magistrates’ court on a number of matters was caught after police spotted him driving around in a car with “dodgy” number plates.

SYP Operational Support reported yesterday that officers spotted a Vauxhal moving around on some dodgy number plates firstly in Doncaster before they caught up with it as it headed into Rotherham.

A spokesman said: “The driver was running some personal errands, which unfortunately for him led him to a dead end in Sunnyside and therefore ran out of road when it became apparent we were about to surround him.

“He made a half hearted attempted at running away, hampered somewhat by extremely baggy jeans, before he was sporting some of our handcuffs.

“The car was stolen in Sheffield back in April, and the driver, as well as being unlicensed and uninsured, was wanted for a couple of things the Magistrates wanted to chat to him about.”
