'Very highly esteemed' woman who died at scene of Doncaster crash named

A 63-year-old woman who died in a crash in Doncaster has been named.

At around 5.20pm on Tuesday, December 10 it is reported that a green Honda Civic and a red Toyota Rav4 collided on Stainforth Road.

Janet Sylvester, who was driving the Honda, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her family said in a statement: “Janet was involved in a road traffic accident and tragically did not survive.

“Treasured by her family - parents Mary and Don Sylvester, her brother Gary and sister-in-law Pamela and nieces Charlotte and Sophie - she was very highly esteemed and loved by her many work colleagues and friends.

“A beautiful light has gone from our lives.”

The driver of the Toyota, a 69-year-old Doncaster man, remains in hospital in a critical condition.

Both families ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult time.
