Two more suspects bailed in Lewis Williams murder inquiry after fatal Mexborough shooting

Two men arrested on suspicion of the murder of Lewis Williams have been bailed.

Lewis, aged 20, suffered fatal injuries to his neck and face during a reported shooting on Wath Road, Mexborough, at 4.26pm on Monday.

Six people have since been arrested in connection with his death and two boys, aged 16 and 17, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with murder.

The pair have also been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and criminal damage, while the 16-year-old has been charged with assault.

They have been remanded in custody and will next appear before court on Monday (18 January).

A 32-year-old man from Doncaster and a 22-year-old man from Rotherham have been released from custody while enquiries continue.

Two other men, both aged 20, also remain on bail as part of the investigation.
