Trucker 'driving erratically' on A1 and M18 near Doncaster four times over drink drive limit

Officers stopped the lorry over the weekend after a concerned member of the public called police.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police’s Operational Support unit said: “It’s a team effort to tackle those who pose a risk to our communities through drink driving, and over the weekend roads policing officers were alerted to a Long Goods Vehicle driver on the A1.

Hide Ad“A member of the public called to make us aware that the driver was driving erratically.
“We followed the LGV onto the M18 before bringing it to a stop.
“The driver, a-56 year-old man was breathalysed at the side of the road and blew 150, over four times the maximum legal limit.
“The driver was arrested and once sober charged with driving while over the drink drive limit.

“It is not OK to drink and drive. You are not only risking your own life, but the lives of innocent people.
