None of the students checked were carrying weapons.

Astrea Academy Woodfields said: “We have a positive ongoing relationship with the South Yorkshire Police and as part of a local police campaign against knife crime, schools across Doncaster, including Woodfields, are working closely with them to raise awareness of the dangers of carrying weapons.

“Students also heard about how the police tackle any security issues locally and discussed career opportunities within the force.

“The visit was a great success and we will continue to invite the police into school.”
