STOLEN: Beautiful English springer spaniel pup Lola grabbed from a Doncaster garden
A family pet and working dog was snatched from its Fishlake home in what is believed to be a targeted theft.
Lola, a 13-month-old black and white English springer spaniel was taken at around 1.45pm on Friday, February 26, and has not been seen since.
Heartbroken owner Paul Simms, aged 34, said: “She was taken from her dog kennel in the garden, and they knew what they were after because they left my older dog behind, 13-year-old Buster, who is also a springer, was in the kennel with her.
"I’m offer a big reward for her return.”
The thief was spotted on CCTV and by Paul’s next door neighbour and the only description was that it was a white male wearing a baseball cap and who arrived in an unknown vehicle, making a bee-line straight for the kennel.
Paul, who has had Lola since she was eight weeks old, added: “It’s heartbreaking. I’m not eating, I’m not sleeping, it is just in my head all the time.
"You could put 20 dogs in front of me and I’d know which one was her from a mile off.”
A spokesman for The Dogs Trust said: “Incidences of dog theft have been increasing over the past few years, with the home and garden being the top locations for pet theft. We are urging dog owners to be vigilant and not leave their dogs unattended in public areas, as well as considering a number of small changes they can make to help protect their pet.”
