Earlier in the day, officers attended an incident involving several vehicles near to the same street.

Police were called up to around four to five hours earlier, with a photo taken at the scene showing a silver Mini and a dark blue car with its boot open being examined by officers and a number of patrol cars outside Shackleton Road at its junction with Chalmers Drive.

We have asked South Yorkshire Police about both incidents.

There are fears the latest incident could be linked to a wave of gun crime and violence which has swept Doncaster in recent weeks.

It is not clear if the latest incident is linked to the escalating feud, but it is a short distance from a number of other shootings which began on March 29 and have been linked by police.
