Sheffield mum was manipulated into smuggling drugs into Doncaster prison for son

Joanne Platts was caught trying to take the Class C drug into HMP Doncaster in October, last year, Sheffield Crown Court heard on Friday.
Chris Brewin, mitigating, said: "She didn't realise how seriously these offences are taken."

Hide AdJudge Sarah Wright said Platt's son told her he was being threatened and "out of fear for his well being" she agreed to transport the drugs.
"He clearly manipulated you, but the issue of illegal drugs in prisons is an acute problem," she said.
"You have supported him for years, but he has caused you no end of trouble."
The court heard that Platts, 55, of Penistone Road, pleaded guilty at the first opportunity and has no previous convictions.
She was sentenced to four months, suspended for one year.
