Police uncover £2M cannabis farm at Doncaster factory as THOUSANDS of plants are seized

Officers from the Doncaster Fortify Team, dedicated to tackling serious and organised crime in the area, have disrupted a significant drugs set up in the Mexborough area.

Earlier this morning (Wednesday 5 February), South Yorkshire Police used specialist equipment to execute a warrant at an industrial building on Swinton Road, under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

A significant and complex cannabis set-up was discovered, with approximately 1,500 – 2,000 plants found worth an estimated £2million.

No one was at the premise and enquiries are underway to identify those involved.

A cordon will remain in place while scenes of crime officers attend and forensic enquiries are carried out.
