Police stop car and find passenger in possession of drugs and driver with no documents

Police were on patrol in Mexborough and Edlington this week when they stopped a car and found the passenger in possession of drugs and the driver with no documents.

Officers from Doncaster South Neighbourhood Policing Team had a busy day on Tuesday.

A spokesman said: “We have conducted foot patrols around Mexborough, keeping the streets safe preventing shopliftings on the high street and enable local residents to come and have a chat with officers about crime prevention advice.

“In Edlington a male was arrested for failing to appear at court.

A vehicle was also stopped after acting suspiciously.A vehicle was also stopped after acting suspiciously.

“A vehicle was also stopped after acting suspiciously. The driver was found to have no license or insurance and the passenger was found to be in possession of a small amount of cannabis.

"Both the driver and passenger have been dealt with for the offences and the vehicle seized.”
