Police speeding op targets drivers on busy Doncaster street today

This was one of Doncaster’s busiest streets today – as it was targeted by police in a operation against speeding motorists.

Officers set up on Bennetthorpe, after receiving complaints about a speeding problem on the street, close to Doncaster town centre.

It is the latest in a series of speeding checks which have been carried out by police across Donaster in recent weeks, with officers stating that they are planning more in the future.

PCSP David Twigg said: “Local Police Community Support Officers carried out a mobile speed gun operation on Bennetthorpe.

“This was in response to complaints received from local residents regarding speeding vehicles in the area. At this time, no vehicles were witnessed travelling over the legal limit.“Local Police Community Support Officers will be conducting further such operations in the near future. If you have any concerns regarding speeding vehicles in your area, please contact us on 101.”
