Officers obtained a court order to shut the property on Schofield Street, which has now been boarded up.

It is believed to be the first closure order of its sort in Mexborough and means no one can go into that address for the next three months. It runs until February 11.

The granting of the closure order by a court relates to antisocial behaviour and suspected drugs dealing.

Insp Adrian Luscombe, neighbourhood inspector for Doncaster West, said similar action over other properties in the area could be taken in the future.
