A police probe into a murder in Doncaster is continuing today after the discovery of a woman's body.

Police officers were deployed to a house on Manor Way, Askern, at around 11pm on Monday after a call was made to report the death of a 49-year-old woman.

A 48-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.

He remained in police custody last night.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Enquiries are ongoing to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.”
