Police in Doncaster cordon off Lakeside area over rape of woman, 24

A large police cordon is in place at Lakeside in Doncaster this morning after a woman reported being raped.

The cordon is off Lakeside Boulevard and part of it takes in a path close to the Keepmoat Homes head office.

Man arrested after threatening another man with gun in Doncaster street

South Yorkshire Police said a 24-year-old woman reported being raped in a wooded area close to the lake last night.

The woman is being supported by specially trained officers experienced in the investigation of sexual offences.

In a statement, the force said: “Officers in Doncaster are investigating a reported rape last night in a wooded area close to the Lakeside lake.

“At around 10.45pm, police received a call reporting that a 24-year-old woman had been raped earlier in the evening.

“The woman is being supported by specially trained officers.

“An investigation has been launched and anyone with information is asked to call.”
