Police hunt gang of yobs who hurled fireworks at squad cars in Doncaster

Police are hunting a gang of yobs who threw fireworks at officers and squad cars in Doncaster.

Officers were pelted with fireworks in Beckett Road, Wheatley – with the offenders also throwing lit fireworks at house before fleeing.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Police are investigating after fireworks were thrown at their vehicles in the Wheatley area of Doncaster on the evening of Wednesday, November 4.

“It is reported that a group of youths were throwing fireworks at properties and vehicles in and around the Beckett Road area, including police vehicles, at around 7pm.

“The group fled the scene and officers were unable to locate any of the individuals involved.

"Enquiries are ongoing to identify and locate those present.

“No police vehicles were damaged during the incident.”
